Rebecca and Jordan’s Hyde Park Wedding

Jordan and Rebecca were a delight to shoot. Despite an overcast day and some rain about, it did nothing to dampen the mood of these two.

The ceremony was held at historic St Albans Anglican Church. You enter through round-arched solid jarrah doors hinged with decorative cast iron straps and are met with ornate stained glass windows which light up the interior beautifully. It made for some stunning photos and highlighted the couples welcoming, but touching ceremony.

After the ceremony we made our way to the picturesque Hyde Park. The clouds that were around made the light perfect for outdoor photos. The trees were in full bloom, and sitting under the giant Moreton Bay Fig trees, we could have been shooting anywhere in the world.

I was able to get a few great photos but the rain set in, and we were forced to go to plan B, and it was a great plan B. Just up from Hyde Park is The Flying Scotsman, an older bar with great character. The interior of this classic bar was actually designed by Jordan’s dad! It made for some memorable photos to look back on.

I left for the reception just as Jordan and Rebecca were being driven away in their very sleek Bellagio Limousine. The reception was held on the other side of the river at The Blue Water Grill, overlooking the Swan River the location was ideal. For me, this is one of my favourite parts of any wedding, being able to capture Rebecca and Jordan in their element and enjoying their day. The Groom and his trusted groomsmen were never without a whiskey in hand, whilst the bride and her bridesmaids had a constant flow of champagne.
